Please check the terms and conditions of these ID cards, some are free some are not.

Most will require 1 or 2 passport-sized photographs. Some applications require independent verification and signature by a referee (the form will list who is eligible) and some applications require photocopies of your passport/birth certificate.

Some card issuers will telephone the referee the check you out. Novelty ID cards are not acceptable, they also cost a fortune.

You may already have Photo ID with proof of age that will be acceptable:-

Photo ID with DOB issued to 16 to 19 year olds (passport sized photo required)

Wrexham/Flintshire Proof of Age Card - 16 plus and 18 plus - FREE

Contact Trading Standards in Wrexham 01978 296060. The card is issued free to all 16 – 19 year olds who live or go to school/college in the Wrexham Borough area. You will have to attend Trading Standards offices/school/Yale College to have a photo scan.

NUS Associate Card - £6

Photo required. If you're in studying in Year 12 or 13 of a school, then you can apply for an NUS Associate Card by calling 0870 241 4128 or email associate@hull.dpslimited.co.uk for an application form.

Young Persons Rail Card - will only prove that you are 16 plus

Although these photo cards do not have DOB on them you have to be over 16 to get one

If you have any other form of photo ID that states your age /DOB and is printed, laminated and produced by a recognised organisation it may be acceptable.

NUS Cards

NUS do not supply NUS Cards directly to students, you need to visit your local students' union to get an NUS Card
